The Griffins on Tuesday released their 2016-17 promotional schedule, featuring a number of giveaways and the return of many popular season-long promotions.

The Griffins on Monday released their schedule for the 2016-17 season. Grand Rapids and second-year head coach Todd Nelson will open its 76-game slate at Van Andel Arena against the Chicago Wolves on Friday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m.

The Griffins have signed forward Louis-Marc Aubry and defenseman Conor Allen to one-year contracts. Aubry enjoyed a breakout year with the Griffins in 2015-16 by setting career highs in points (12-17—29), goals (12), assists (17), penalty minutes (87) and games played (75). Allen produced 14 points (3-11—14) and 68 penalty minutes during the 2015-16 regular season in a combined 66 games between the Milwaukee Admirals, Binghamton Senators and Iowa Wild.

The Griffins will gear up for the 2016-17 American Hockey League campaign by playing one preseason game, on the road against the Chicago Wolves on Friday, Oct. 7. Puck drop is set for 8 p.m. EDT at the West Meadows Ice Arena in Rolling Meadows, Ill. Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door.
