Advanced Ticket Sales
Purchasing tickets for Grand Rapids Griffins games at Van Andel Arena can be done at the team’s official retail provider, The Zone, located on the west side of the arena (tickets purchased at The Zone incur a $1.00 service charge per ticket), online through our website which links to Star Tickets, phone orders through Star Tickets by calling (616) 222-4000 or (800) 585-3737, at select west Michigan Meijer locations or at the Van Andel Arena box office on game day (one and one-half hours before game time). Tickets purchased through Star Tickets over the phone, through their website or at Meijer outlets incur a $3.50-$4.50 fee per ticket.  Acceptable forms of payment include: cash, American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.  Personal and company checks are not accepted.  All credit card transactions will show up on your bank statement as Star Tickets, Inc.

Authenticity
Star Tickets is the only authorized ticket-selling agent of the Grand Rapids Griffins.  The Griffins are not responsible for the authenticity of tickets purchased from any other source.  Any counterfeits or invalid tickets will not be honored.

If you purchase from a non-authorized agent, you risk purchasing a lost or stolen ticket that is not valid for admittance into Van Andel Arena for the game.  Van Andel Arena and the Grand Rapids Griffins employ scanning technology for admittance to games.  Only valid tickets will scan to authorize entry into the arena for the event.  Lost or stolen tickets may be de-activated, and thus will not be valid for entry into the arena.  Any ticket that is reprinted makes the original ticket void as the barcode becomes inactive.  Anyone who purchases tickets from a scalper or ticket broker does so at his or her own risk.

Children
Children under the age of 2 are admitted free of charge and are expected to sit in a parent’s lap.  Children 2 years and over must have a ticket.

Exchanges
No exchanges are allowed for individual game tickets. This stipulation is clearly marked on each ticket.  Full Season and 20-Game Mini Plan tickets may be exchanged under the "Never a Wasted Ticket Program"; subject to availability.  Unused season tickets may be exchanged at The Zone during regular business hours or at the Griffins box office on game nights in quantities of 10 or less; any exchange request for a quantity greater than 10 must be processed through the Griffins Ticket Operations department prior to noon on the date of the game for which the tickets are to be exchanged.
Partial tickets will not be accepted; the whole ticket must be available for a season ticket to be exchanged.  Exchanged tickets must be surrendered and will not be returned.

In the case of a Winning Wednesday game, the box office will be open promptly at the end of the game to exchange tickets for the next applicable game if the Grand Rapids Griffins win.  The whole ticket must be available to exchange.  Partial tickets will not be accepted.  No purchases or upgrades are available at this time.  Ticket stubs of exchanged tickets are kept for internal purposes and will not be returned.

Flex Tickets
Grand Rapids Griffins flex tickets can be redeemed at any time prior to the game at The Zone, or at any of the ticket sales windows at the box office one and one-half hours prior to the start of the game.  Flex tickets cannot be redeemed over the phone and must be redeemed in person.  Each flex ticket designates a specific price level where the tickets are valid.  It is suggested that flex tickets should be redeemed at least one week in advance of the desired game, as they are based on availability.  A flex ticket IS NOT A SEATED TICKET and must be turned in for a seated ticket.  Flex tickets can be upgraded based on availability.

General Admission Tickets
General admission tickets are only available when there are no available seating options.  These tickets are always marked ‘GA’.  Guidelines for general admission tickets are handed out when a purchase is considered.  General admission tickets do not guarantee a specific seat location.  General admission tickets allow you to sit in an unused seat no earlier than 25 minutes after the scheduled game time.  Should a ticket holder arrive with a ticket for the seat you occupy, that ticket holder has priority over you. You will need to vacate that seat.

Group Tickets
Please contact the Grand Rapids Griffins group sales department by calling (800) 2-HOCKEY on special pricing for groups of 10 or more.

Inclement Weather
All games are 'Rain or Shine' events. Only in extreme inclement weather are games canceled or postponed. Rain and snow are not considered inclement weather.  Should a decision be made to cancel or postpone a game, this information will be posted as soon as it is determined.

Lost/Stolen/Destroyed Tickets
The Grand Rapids Griffins are not responsible for lost, stolen, destroyed or forgotten tickets. Please remember that game tickets are like money and should be secured like cash.  Tickets lost, stolen or destroyed prior to the game may be replaced by contacting the Grand Rapids Griffins ticket operations department. Only the account holder may request and receive replacement tickets.  Please be prepared to present a photo ID, the actual credit card used for the purchase, confirmation number, and exact seat location.  The Grand Rapids Griffins reserve the right not to replace lost or stolen tickets.

Account holders caught fraudulently requesting replacement tickets are subject to account cancellation and such other legal remedies as may be available to the Grand Rapids Griffins.

As a security measure, tickets printed for the Grand Rapids Griffins are printed on thermal paper.  The writing on the face of tickets is burned onto the ticket surface rather than printed.  Tickets stored in cars, especially in glove boxes or on dashboards, or in other places of extreme heat, may turn completely black and become unreadable.  This can happen even if they are in an envelope.  The Grand Rapids Griffins and Star Tickets may not be able to issue relocation passes if the original seats cannot be determined.  Tickets should be returned to the point of purchase to determine if they can be replaced.  This cannot be done over the phone.

Any ticket that is reprinted makes the original ticket void as the barcode is deactivated.

Offer Redemption
Coupons, vouchers, season ticket exchanges and flex tickets can be redeemed at The Zone or at the ticket sales windows located at the box office on the night of a game.  Only originals will be accepted.  These are redeemed based on availability, so it is suggested to redeem them at least one week prior to the desired game.  College student tickets are available only on Friday games, and are limited to one ticket per student ID, per person.  Library card tickets are available only on Wednesday and Sunday games and are limited to up to four tickets per library card.  Half-off coupons are not to be combined with any other offers.  “Put a Lid on It” vouchers are not redeemable for Friday games.  Any ticket packages offered by the Grand Rapids Griffins do not apply to day-of-game sales and are not available through the box office or The Zone.  All package sales must be done at least one day in advance of the desired game through the Grand Rapids Griffins ticket sales department.

Opening/Closing Time
The Grand Rapids Griffins’ box office opens 90 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the game.  The turnstiles generally open one hour prior to game time.  The box office remains open until the end of the first period.  After this time, tickets can be purchased and/or picked up (will call tickets) at The Zone until the end of the second intermission.  After this time, tickets are no longer available to purchase for that night’s game; however tickets for future Griffins home games are available to purchase at The Zone.

Other Van Andel Arena Events
The Grand Rapids Griffins do not handle ticket sales for any other Van Andel Arena events.  For more information regarding Van Andel Arena events please call (616) 742-6610, visit the box office during regular business hours, or visit the Van Andel Arena website.

Payment for Tickets
Tickets will not be released or held without payment. Payments may be made by cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express only.  Checks will be accepted for ticket packages through the Grand Rapids Griffins sales department only and cannot be used for single-game sales.  All credit card transactions will show up on your bank statement as Star Tickets, Inc.

Print@Home Tickets
Purchase your tickets online and you can print your tickets immediately after you purchase them.  Just select ‘Print@Home’ as your delivery option and your tickets will be emailed to you after you have completed your purchase in the form of a PDF attachment.  The email you will receive will be sent from customerservice@startickets.com.  You must print these prior to arriving at Van Andel Arena for the game.  Please you the best quality print options to ensure your tickets will scan at the turnstiles.  In case the paper ticket does not scan, take those tickets to the will call window to speak with a Griffins representative who can attempt to reprint those tickets on thermal paper.  It is suggested to have your ticket confirmation number and purchasing credit card available if necessary to assist in the reprinting of tickets.

Re-Entry
Van Andel Arena enforces a strict no re-admission policy. Any guests exiting the facility, except to designated smoking areas, will not be allowed re-admission.

Refunds Policy
There are no refunds for tickets purchased.  This stipulation is clearly marked on each ticket.  Should a decision be made to cancel or postpone an event, this information will be posted as soon as it is determined.  Once payment is received, the customer CANNOT cancel an order and receive a refund or exchange tickets for any reason.  Please verify that the seat location, quantity, and game date are correct before making a purchase.  All sales are final.

Re-selling Tickets
Resale or attempted resale at a price higher than that printed herein is grounds for seizure or cancellation without refund or other compensation. In an effort to keep customer informed, we would like to re-familiarize you with the laws in Michigan governing ticket sale and resale, more commonly known as “scalping.” In Michigan, ticket scalping (selling tickets for more than their face value) is a misdemeanor (90-days/$100 fine). MCL 750.465 (6). Under MCL 750.465 (2) if the resale is being done with the written permission of the owner, lessee, operator, or manager of the theater, circus, athletic grounds, or place of public entertainment or amusement where the event occurs, then the sales can be made at locations other than the box office where the event occurs. The owner, lessee, operator, or manager must have knowledge and provide written permission to charge in excess of the box office price.

Season Tickets
Full, mini, and flex plan ticket packages for the Grand Rapids Griffins are available at various price ranges. For season ticket information, call a Griffins Account Executive at (800) 2-HOCKEY or visit the Ticket Sales table at the top of the main stairs on game nights.

Suites/Hospitality Areas
Suites and hospitality areas are not available to purchase on game days.  There must be prior arrangements made through the Grand Rapids Griffins group sales department by calling (800) 2-HOCKEY.

Ticket Stubs
Ticket stubs should be retained throughout the event to allow guest services staff to verify the seat location to which the ticket holder is entitled.  All guests are required to have a ticket for their seat. Guests may be asked to show their tickets for entry into their seating area.
Guests are not permitted to sit in seats for which they do not hold a valid ticket.  The Van Andel Arena staff will be checking tickets to safeguard each customer's investment in a ticketed seat.

Upgrades
You have the option to upgrade your seat location with a flex ticket voucher or any vouchers involving complimentary tickets.  The price charged will be the difference between the face value of your current seat price and the face value of the upgraded seat price on a per ticket basis.  Half off coupons cannot be upgraded.  The ability to upgrade tickets is based on current ticket availability.

Will Call
Will call tickets will only be released to the person whose name appears on the will call envelope or whose name was provided in the Star Tickets transaction. Tickets are alphabetized by last name of the person picking them up.  First and last names are required for any tickets left.  Company names are not accepted.  No person will be given tickets designated for another person without prior authorization. Proper photo identification is required (valid driver's license or passport) in order to claim your tickets. Your order confirmation number and purchasing credit card may also be required, if applicable, or in lieu of a photo ID.  Name changes will not be accepted via the telephone and information regarding will call tickets will not be given out over the phone.  Tickets purchased in advance that were left for you can be picked up on the day of the game only at the designated will call windows located at the Van Andel Arena box office.

Will call tickets may be picked up no earlier than one and one-half hours before the scheduled start time of the game and will be available at the box office until the end of the first period.  Tickets cannot be picked up at The Zone prior to the game.  However, after the box office closes at the end of the first period, will call tickets will be taken to The Zone for late-arrival pick-up.  Tickets purchased for another game will not be available until the night of that game unless prior arrangements have been made with a Grand Rapids Griffins ticket account executive.

Tickets or passes left by team players usually arrive in the box office approximately one hour before the event start time. Unfortunately, box office personnel have no way of knowing who is to receive player tickets until they are delivered to the box office by locker room assistants.

Tickets left by players, coaches, officials, contest hosts or any other third party not associated with the Grand Rapids Griffins are responsible for getting tickets to the box office in a timely manner.  No exceptions will be made without direct approval to print tickets.  Please contact the party responsible for leaving your tickets if concerns arise.

Tickets cannot be purchased at the will call window as it is provided as a convenience to our guests for the sole purpose of distributing tickets.  Payment for tickets will not be accepted at will call unless prior arrangement has been made with a Griffins ticket account executive.
