2008-09: Played first full AHL season with Grand Rapids, where his 35 points (10-25—35) in 69 games ranked as the 10th-highest total for a rookie in franchise history…Placed second among Griffins rookies in assists, power play assists (8, 2nd) and shots (152, 2nd)…Finished fifth overall on the team in shots…Tied for second among AHL rookies with two shootout-winning goals…Registered eight multi-point outings...Scored on two of six shootout attempts. 2007-08: Appeared in seven games with Grand Rapids and earned his first AHL point with an assist, 3/30/08 at Chicago…Spent a brief stint as a “black ace” with the Red Wings during the early part of their Stanley Cup run…Attended Team Canada’s training camp for the World Championship, logging two exhibition games…Split his final OHL season between Kingston and Brampton, racking up 61 points (25-36—61) through 54 games…Captained Kingston at the beginning of the campaign, tallying 31 points (13-18—31) in 24 games to tie for eighth on the team…Recorded career highs with four goals and six points in Kingston’s 7-3 win, 11/7/07 at Belleville…Attended the selection camp for Canada’s World Junior Championship team but was sent home due to mononucleosis, which also caused him to miss more than a month before debuting with Brampton…Once healthy, he notched 30 points (12-18—30) in 30 contests with the Battalion…Was a member of Team OHL at the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge for the third-straight year. 2006-07: Appeared in two Calder Cup playoff games with the Griffins, making his pro debut on 4/19/07 at Manitoba…Despite missing nine weeks with a broken ankle, he placed among Kingston’s leaders with a career-high 29 goals (T3rd), 37 assists (5th) and 66 points (4th) in 40 games…Scored two goals for Team OHL to lead his squad to a 5-0 win over Russia in the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge…Led Kingston with five goals and tied for first on the team with seven points through five playoffs games…Voted the third smartest player in the OHL Eastern Conference coaches’ poll. 2005-06: Led Kingston, set personal bests for his junior career and placed among the OHL’s leaders with 64 assists (T9th), 90 points (11th) and a plus-37 rating (1st)…Also ranked fifth on the team with 26 goals…Helped Team Canada to a fourth-place finish at the World U18 Championship in Sweden, contributing two points (1-1—2) in seven games…Appeared in the OHL All-Star Game as a member of the Eastern Conference All-Stars and earned an assist…Also participated in the CHL Top Prospects Game and the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge…Ranked third in voting for the OHL’s most sportsmanlike player award…Tied Wojtek Wolski for the smartest player award in the Eastern Conference coaches’ poll. 2004-05: Placed sixth in scoring on Kingston during his rookie OHL campaign with 38 points (17-21—38) in 58 games…Named to the OHL All-Scholastic Team.
