2008-09: Played first full AHL season with Grand Rapids, earning nine points (2-7—9) and 25 penalty minutes in 51 contests…Scored his first AHL goal, 2/6/09 vs. Chicago. 2007-08: Helped Belleville reach the Memorial Cup semifinals and the OHL finals, where the Bulls rallied from a 3-0 series deficit before losing to Kitchener in seven games…Placed second on the team in all points categories during the postseason and ranked seventh in the OHL with 24 points (9-15—24) in 21 playoff games…Joined Belleville in a December trade and tallied 38 points (11-27—38) in 31 games, finishing in a tie for eighth on the team…Spent the first half of his final OHL season with Saginaw, racking up 26 points (6-20—26) in as many games to rank ninth on the Spirit in scoring and tie for fifth in assists…Helped Slovenia win a bronze medal at the second-tier World Junior Championship in Latvia, tallying three points (1-2—3), two PIM and 31 shots in five games…Finished as runner-up in voting for both the OHL’s most underrated player and best stickhandler in the Eastern Conference coaches’ poll, while ranking third for best playmaker. 2006-07: Made his Griffins/AHL debut during the Calder Cup Playoffs, 4/19/07 at Manitoba…Appeared in all seven of Grand Rapids’ playoff games against the Moose and earned his first AHL point with the first of two assists he tallied during the series, 4/27/07…Named to the OHL’s All-Rookie Second Team…Finished fourth in OHL rookie scoring with 80 points (27-53—80) in 62 games with Saginaw…Ranked among Spirit leaders with 27 goals (T3rd), 53 assists (2nd), 80 points (2nd) and a plus-27 rating (2nd)…Started season with a 22-game scoring streak, during which he registered 40 points (13-27—40)…Named to the OHL All-Academic Team in addition to being recognized as the OHL’s academic player of the month for December…Played for Slovenia at the second-level World Junior Championship in Denmark, logging five points (3-2—5) and 10 PIM in five games. 2005-06: Left his native Slovenia to play for Budejovice of the U20 Czech league, where he ranked fourth on the team with 30 points (15-15—30) in 43 games…Was a member of Slovenia’s silver medal-winning team at the second-tier World U18 Championship in Hungary, notching two points (1-1—2) and eight PIM in five games…Won a bronze medal with Slovenia at the second-level World Junior Championship in Slovenia, contributing five points (3-2—5) and two PIM in five games. 2004-05: Tallied 45 points (16-29—45) in 24 games with Maribor in the Slovenian league…Won a silver medal with Slovenia at the second-level World U18 Championship in Slovenia, tallying three points (1-2—3) and four PIM in five games.
